• KELLY A. BENDER, EA

    PRESIDENT

    Kelly is the President and leader of the team at Total Business Solutions. She has over 20 years’ experience in tax, and brings a lifetime of insight and knowledge into the world of small business operations and taxation.

    Having also grown up in an entrepreneurial family, she is passionate about empowering the small business owner to not only survive, but thrive, and is proud of the valuable role she plays in her client’s lives.

    Kelly is an Enrolled Agent, granted rights to represent taxpayers before the IRS, and handles many levels of tax complexities and strategies despite an ever changing set of tax laws. As a small business owner herself, she has made it her life’s mission to surround and support the same type of clients she so passionately loves.

    Kelly’s life is defined by her four F’s: Faith, Family, Food, and Finances. She is the proud mother and step mother of six powerful, confident children, and lives on a multi-generational homestead with the love of her life, Don.

  • DONALD E. BENDER, EA

    DIRECTOR

    Don is the Director of Individual Tax Services here at Total Business Solutions. Don has 35 years of Tax & Accounting experience specializing in Individual taxes and trusts; with 25 of those years serving the community as a small business owner and member of the Total Business Solutions team.

    After graduating with an Associate’s Degree in Accounting from Duff’s Business Institute, Don began his career as a Public Accountant in the corporate world. Don spent time in the corporate sector for 10 years before deciding to start his own practice. Don worked to grow his current practice while completing his Bachelor’s Degree from Point Park College.

    As the Director of Individual Tax Services, Don finds fulfillment in working with retirees, helping guide them in tax planning and ensuring they stay compliant with the changing tax laws.

    When Don is not in the office, he is a true outdoorsman at heart. He enjoys sitting in trees (Hunting), standing in the water (Fishing), and growing anything under the sun. Don lives on his family farm with 4 generations of family, including his wonderful wife, Kelly.

  • BRYAN E. CAIRNS, EA

    EXECUTIVE TAX ADVISOR

    Bryan has been with Total Business Solutions since the inception of the company after graduating from Robert Morris University with a B.S. in Accounting. Throughout the 10+ years of service he has developed into the Business Services Manager, working with the small business community to guide clients through their journey of entreprenurship.

    Guided through life with family values from his grandparents and parents, and working for other small businesses before starting his career has helped create a foundation of life lessons and small business experience that has served him well.

    Providing service that is above and beyond what a client should expect is his standard. His ultimate enjoyment comes from providing clients with an education. There is no such thing as a stupid question, and the ability to provide clients with knowledge not only to help here and now, but in the future growth of their business is the ultimate reward.

    Other passions include golf and hockey in adults sports leagues, along with a love of the outdoors, fishing, and visiting America's National Park system.

  • JOSEPH M. BENDER, EA

    EXECUTIVE TAX ADVISOR

    Joe is an Executive Tax Advisor with Total Business Solutions. He grew up on Main Street America. His family has always been self-employed. His father started his own Tax and Accounting practice 35 years ago. Joe worked his entire childhood to create the business we call TBS. He grew up working in the office from an early age taking on any task that was given with a smile. These experiences have shaped the Advisor he is today.

    After graduating from Slippery Rock University he committed his life to helping small business owners in Western Pennsylvania and the surrounding regions. With his lifetime of experience, Joe will help to minimize your tax liability, increase your cash flow, and strategically grow your business. His insight and expertise will help you maximize every deduction you are entitled to.

    Outside of work, Joe values family, food and fishing. He is married to the love of his life, and has a son, Charlie and another son on the way. He has a passion to source his own food from nature via gardening, fishing and hunting.

  • SHAYLA MCCLUNG

    FIRM ADMINISTRATOR

    Shayla joined the Total Business Solutions team in 2018 and is the Firm Administator for all offices, but is located in the Warrendale location. She is also the assistant to Kelly Bender.

    With over 15 years of work experience in various corporate roles, Shayla takes pride in incorporating facets of each of those positions into keeping the offices running smoothly and assisting in providing quality service to each of our clients.

    Working with the small business community in our area is something that she has truly grown to love and appreciate while working at Total Business Solutions.

    Shayla enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband, family and friends.

  • KAYLEE BENDER

    BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

    Kaylee is the Business Development Manager at Total Business Solutions. Kaylee is a graduate of Slippery Rock University (SRU), with a degree in Public Relations and minor in leadership. She worked in the hospitality industry for four years helping travelers with hotel accommodations and is eager to see what impact she can have with Total Business Solutions for years to come.

    She is heavily involved in the community and strives to find ways to keep the younger generation in the county by educating them on opportunities that Butler County has to offer. She has a passion for helping others in the community in any aspect possible.

    Outside of work, she enjoys being with family & friends, especially her husband Joe & son Charlie. Kaylee enjoys watching hockey, going to country concerts, and going on walks/adventures with her family.

    At SRU she started a thriving organization called SPARK (Strengthening Positivity and Reinforcing Kindness) and to this day Kaylee strives every day to make those around her smile.

  • RENEE MCCONAUGHY

    ACCOUNT MANAGER

    Renee is an Account Manager at Total Business Solutions. She has a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from UND & Penn State University (Let's Go State). She has over 25 years of work experience at several different CPA firms.

    Renee has extensive knowledge of Accounting and Tax practices. She owned her own business for several years before she decided to join the workforce again as an employee. She understands both sides of business and how to help clients to be sucessful. She will handle your books like they are her own (Maximize Expenses and Minimize Profit).

    Renee enjoys traveling and chasing her two puppies. She also enjoys watching hockey and playing fantasy football with her son.

    She is all about making life less difficult, happiness is what you make of it!

    TAX ASSOCIATE

    Nick is a Tax Associate here at Total Business Solutions, joining the team after 10 years in the busy life of Bar Management.

    He has always done Accounting on the front end of the business, which gave him the footing he needed to start a new career. Working directly with Bryan Cairns, our Business Tax & Accounting Manager, has helped Nick to develop bookkeeping and payroll skills, along with Individual and Business tax experience.

    Outside of work, Nick enjoys spending time at home relaxing with his partner and their dogs.

  • NICHOLAS ASSEFF

    TAX ASSOCIATE

    Nick is a Tax Associate here at Total Business Solutions. He joined the team in November of 2023. His work ethic is guided by his military upbringing. Precision, honor, and teamwork were instilled in him at a young age, and he has carried those values throughout his life.

    Nick graduated from Ohio State University with a major in Finance. He has had a lifelong love of finance; whether it is analyzing the balance sheets of Fortune 500 giants, or diving into the financial narratives of small businesses, he finds joy in every number.

    Outside of the office, he loves watching the Buckeyes, as well as the Steelers and Pirates. He likes to golf (maybe a little too much) and getting outside whenever he gets the chance.

  • BREANNA BENDER

    BOOKKEEPING ASSOCIATE

    Bree joins Total Business Solutions as a Bookkeeping Associate, working in both the bookkeeping and tax departments. In 2020, she graduated with a dual BA from Southern New Hampshire University in Business Administration with a minor in History, and a BA in Human Resources with a minor in accounting.

    Bree has a great love for everything outdoors. She is an avid camper and can often be found outside somewhere.

    Bree's life goal is to live by one word: A.I.R., meaning she will always show Accountability, Integrity, and Responsibility for everything that she does.

  • THOMAS EARLEY

    BOOKKEEPING ASSOCIATE

    Thomas is a Bookkeeping Associate at Total Business Solutions. Thomas joined the team in August of 2024 with no experience in the industry, but has a good work ethic with a drive to succeed.  

    Thomas got a taste for hard work by roofing with his father at 12 years old. Throughout the years he has had jobs as a landscaper, laborer, and team member in the food industry. Thomas works directly with Nick Rohr, one of TBS’s Tax Associates, and Bryan Cairns, our Executive Tax Advisor to develop his bookkeeping skills. 

    Outside of work Thomas loves to be outdoors, hanging out with friends, playing video games, and taking care of his dogs and cat. 

  • VIRGINIA STEIGHNER

    OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR - Butler

    Virginia is the Office Administrator for the Butler office.  She was with K.E. Randall & Associates for 13 years prior to joining the Total Business Solutions team after the acquisition.  She has over 25 years of experience working in administrative office settings and takes pride in the being the right hand person to office executives.  She is known as the one to get the job done. 

    Virginia grew up as an Army Brat moving every 2-3 years as her dad was stationed in Germany and numerous states throughout the US.  She absolutely loved Army life, traveling, and meeting new people and has maintained lifetime friendships from this time. 

    She is a Life Member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and most importantly, she is the ultimate mom and Mima to her family.

  • LAURA EISEL

    OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR - Warrendale

    After a career as a small business owner, followed by more than twenty years as a Real Estate Title and Settlement Agent, Laura retired in 2023 only to last one year outside of the work force. Laura joined Total Business Solutions in January 2024. For Laura, interacting with the public and helping folks was the driving force in her return to the workplace.

    Outside of work, Laura spends time with her husband, grandchildren, and extended family. She also enjoys planting and tending to her flower gardens, live music, estate sales and antiquing.

  • DIANNA EARLEY

    PROJECT COORDINATOR

    Dianna received her BSBM from Robert Morris and the University of Phoenix. Continuing her MBA presently.

    She has worked at Bayer Material Science, Thermo Fisher Scientific, Accenture, Arconic and ATI.

    Dianna has worked in Procurement/Category Management for 16 years in various roles and categories: Senior leader, Manager of procurement. Categories, IT, Telecomm, Travel, Tail spend, facilities, Marketing and office furniture/ new building management.

    She took a leave of absence from work in 2022 for medical/health reasons, then deciding to go back to work part time with TBS in 2024.

    Dianna has two children and has always worked and lived in the Pittsburgh Area.

  • ALEX HARRISON

    INSURANCE BROKER, TBS INSURED

    Alex has been in the insurance industry for 3.5 years. He has spent the last couple years focusing on insurance solutions for businesses in particular. 

    The strong communication he provides for clients comes from his background serving close to 7 years in the marine as a military police officer. Alex also spent almost a decade in the restaurant industry doing anything from serving, to cooking, to running the restaurant as a general manager at Breakneck Tavern in Mars. He enjoys fitness and the gym; he spent almost a decade competing in boxing as well. Alex attended Edinboro university and graduated with his bachelor's degree in criminal justice in 3 years. 

    Alex grew up in Fenelton outside of Butler, he has an investment property currently and is still residing in Fenelton. He hopes to be a resource to existing TBS clients that need their business protected and for new clients looking to work with TBS as well. 

  • KILEY QUEER

    SPRING 2025 INTERN

    Kiley is a freshman student majoring in accounting at Slippery Rock University. With a strong interest in being a tax advisor or associate, Kiley is gaining hands-on experience through internships, projects, and random activities Slippery Rock has for her.

    Passionate about the accounting process, she is dedicated to graduating from SRU and getting a career with a degree.

    Outside of her academic world, Kiley spends her time with family and friends mostly going to concerts or some sports games.

  • HAILIE MOGGEE

    SPRING 2025 INTERN

    Hailie is currently an undergrade at Slippery Rock University, with a major in Accounting and minor in Statistics and Economics. Last year, she did the VITA program with CCR (Center of Community Resources) and SRU, where she was able to complete over 70 tax returns within the season.

    Outside of school and work, Hailie spends time with friends and talking to her family on the phone who live far.
